Using the MINDA app, you can assign a new EID to an animal when an animal has either lost their EID or has never had an EID. When assigning an EID you'll need to know:

  • Date the EID was given

  • Animal ID

  • New EID number

  • Reason for replacement

  • NAIT location (if applicable)

How do I record an Assign EID Event?

Select Assign EID from the home screen and then select Assign EID Next go through the steps on screen.

Step 1. Select date

Select the date the EID was given to the animal.

Step 2. NAIT Location (if applicable)

If you've opted in for LIC to be your NAIT information provider, you'll need to choose the NAIT location the EID was assigned at.

Step 3. Choose your animal

Add the animal that was given a new EID.

Step 4. Assign the EID

Select the new EID that was given the animal. You can do this by:

  • Typing the EID number

  • Typing in the Birth ID

  • Going through the list of available EID's

  • Scan the animals EID (if you have a wand connected to your MINDA app)

Step 5. Select the reason for replacement

Choose the reason you're giving the animal a new EID.

Continue steps 3 -5 until you have recorded all of your new EID's.

Step 6. Review and finish

Review the details you've entered. There's a few extra things you can do on this screen including:

  • Delete the session

  • Assign another EID

Similar to other Events, if you need to edit anything, tap on any of the columns or go back by tapping on the top left otherwise tap Finish.

Note: If you've opted in for LIC to be your NAIT information provider, you'll see a message letting you know that NAIT will be updated.

The Event should now show in the Holding Pen where you can approve it.
