Similar to MINDA, you can approve and manage your Events using the Holding Pen in the MINDA app. This means you can keep on top of Events by approving them regularly, keeping your herd records up to date.

How do I approve Events using the MINDA app?

Select Holding Pen from the home screen. Depending on how many Events you need to approve, you can either:

  • Approve multiple Events

  • Approve single Events

Approving multiple Events

Enable Action events on the top right then select the Events you want to approve. If for example, you've recorded 2 Tagging Events and you want to view these before approving, you can view them first then enable Action events on the next screen. This will allow you to only approve the Tagging Events.

Approving single Events

In the Holding Pen, select an Event i.e. Heat. Select an animal then use the buttons at the bottom of the screen to either approve or delete the Event.

How do I edit Events in the Holding Pen using the MINDA app?

If you've noticed your Event needs updating/editing, you can do this from within the Holding Pen. Select the Event then select the animal. Next tap Edit on the top right and tap on any of the columns to update.

I have an error in the Holding Pen, what should I do?

If you see a red cross or an orange triangle, it means your Events either have an error or a warning.

Error (Red cross)

An error means there is an issue with the the Event which is stopping it from being approved. With an errored Event, you'll need to fix the issue described before trying to approve.

Warning (Orange triangle)

A warning means that something in the Event has been picked up in our background checks which you may need to look into. Warnings do not stop events from being approved.

To see what the error or warning is, select the Event then select the animal. Next tap on the error to see the description. In the below example, the warning is to say the animal is not registered in NAIT.

Can I see who else has been recording Events?

Yes! When you're in the Holding Pen, tap Recent activity on the bottom right to see:

  • Events that have been recorded

  • Events that have been approved

  • Which user has been recording/approving Events

  • How they have been recorded/approved i.e. MINDA, app, Protrack etc

To see more details, tap on the Event.

Note: Recent activity will only show Events for the last 4 months (from todays date).

Why isn't my Event showing in the Holding Pen?

When you record Events, you'll have 5 minutes before they're sent to the Holding Pen. Why? This allows you to edit/update them from within the tile you're in. For example, if you've recorded a Calving Event but notice a mistake, you can still edit it from within the Calving screen.

If you need your Events to show in the Holding Pen ASAP, sync your app.
