What are MINDA Events?

In MINDA, you're able to record details about your animals i.e. health conditions, treatments, reproduction information etc and these are called Events. There are 21 Events in MINDA (not including Land & Feed) which you can use when recording information about your animals.

Why record Events in MINDA?

The information recorded in Events is used throughout MINDA and provides you with herd insights as well as powering Groups, Reports and other areas of MINDA. Your reports will help you make decisions on farm so its important that you enter in accurate information when recording Events.

Different Events in MINDA

There are different types of Events in MINDA including:

  • Animal

  • NAIT Only

Animal Events are anything related to the animal i.e. mating, calving, health, tagging etc. NAIT Only is for managing beef animals or feeder calves i.e. registering, selling but requires you to connect your MINDA & NAIT accounts and Pastoral Events are used within Land & Feed to record pasture covers, fertiliser application etc.

Recording Events

You can use the following tools to record Events in MINDA:

  • Holding Pen

  • Bulk Entry

  • Importing

If you add events as they happen, the best way to record them is via the Holding Pen. Click the Event you want to enter then follow the steps on screen. If you prefer adding Events retrospectively, use the Bulk Entry tool. If you use other tools when recording Body Condition Score, Liveweights, Pregnancy Diagnosis or Tagged animals, you can import these into MINDA using the Import Tool. Just make sure that the file you're importing is a .CSV or .txt.
