Using the MINDA app, you can record feeder calves, register and also remove previously registered NAIT Only animals. When recording NAIT Only Events, you'll need to know:

Date the animal(s) were removed or born
Animal ID
Removal reason
NAIT Location
Production type
Sale date

How do I record a (NAIT Only) Register Animals Event?

Select NAIT Only from the dashboard and then select Register Animals. Next go through the steps on screen.

Step 1. Confirm you're recording a NAIT Only Event

When recording a Register Animals Event, you'll be asked to confirm the below. This just means you acknowledge you're registering animals that will not show in your MINDA herd records.

Step 2. Choose the birth date

Select the birth date for the animal. If you're unsure of the date, click Unknown but keep in mind that the animal will not be registered with lifetime traceability.

Step 3. Choose the Production type

Select the production type for the animals you're registering.

Step 4. Choose your animal(s)

Select the animals you're registering. You can do this by:

Typing in the EID number
Typing in the Birth ID
Going through the list of available EID's
Scan the animals EID (if you have a wand connected to your MINDA app)

Step 5. NAIT Location

Select the NAIT location the animal is being registered at.

Step 6. Review and finish

Review the details you've entered. If you need to edit anything, tap on any of the columns or go back by tapping on the top left otherwise tap Finish or Delete these NAIT events to delete the Event.

Note: If you've opted in for LIC to be your NAIT information provider, you'll see a message letting you know that NAIT will be updated.

The Event should now show in the Holding Pen where you can approve it.

How do I record a (NAIT Only) Remove Animals Event?

Select NAIT Only from the dashboard and then select Remove Animals. Next go through the steps on screen.

Step 1. Confirm you're recording a NAIT Only Event

When recording a Remove Animals Event, you'll be asked to confirm the below. This just means you acknowledge you're removing animals that are not on your MINDA herd.

Step 2. Choose the removal date

Select the date the animal(s) were removed.

Step 3. Select a removal type

Choose the reason you're removing animals i.e. were they culled, sold or did they die.

Slaughtered and disposal method

If removing animal(s) that have died, you'll need to confirm the disposal method.

Step 4. Choose your animal(s)

Select the animals you're registering. You can do this by:

Typing in the EID number
Typing in the Birth ID
Going through the list of available EID's
Scan the animals EID (if you have a wand connected to your MINDA app)

Step 5. NAIT Location

Select the NAIT locations the animal(s) are moving between.

Step 6. Review and finish

Note: If you've opted in for LIC to be your NAIT information provider, you'll see a message letting you know that NAIT will be updated.

How do I record a (NAIT Only) Feeder Calf Event?

Select NAIT Only from the dashboard and then select Feeder calf. Next go through the steps on screen. A Feeder Calf registration will send a registration and movement for an animal all in one go

When recording a Feeder Calf Event, you'll be asked to confirm the below. This just means you acknowledge you're registering animals that are not on your MINDA herd.

Step 2. Choose the birth date

Select the birth date for the animal. If you're unsure of the date, click Unknown but keep in mind that the animal will not be registered with lifetime traceability.
