Using MINDA, you can register and remove NAIT Only animals by creating a Feeder Calf Event. When recording a Feeder Calf Event in MINDA, you'll need to know:

  • Date the animal(s) were born

  • Production type

  • Animal ID

  • Sale date

  • NAIT Location

How do I record a (NAIT Only) Feeder Calf Event?

Select Event Recorder from the dashboard and then select Feeder Calf from the list of available Events under the NAIT Only section. Next go through the steps on screen.

Step 1. Confirm you're recording a NAIT Only Event

When recording a Feeder Calf Event, you'll be asked to confirm the below. This just means you acknowledge you're registering animals that are not on your MINDA herd.

Note: If you don't want to see this message every time you record NAIT Only Events, select the checkbox Don't show this message again.

Step 2. Choose the birth date

Select the birth date for the animal. If you're unsure of the date, click Unknown but keep in mind that the animal will not be registered with lifetime traceability.

Step 3. Choose the Production type

Select the production type for the animals you're registering.

Step 4. Choose your animal(s)

Select the animals you're selling. You can either scroll through the list of alliable EID's or use the search bar.

Step 5. Select the sale date

Select the date the animals were sold.

Step 6. NAIT Location

Select the NAIT locations the animal(s) are moving between.

Note: If the from/to NAIT isn't in this list, you can add it from this screen. Just add the NAIT number and Name then use the Add button. If you'd like to save the NAIT location for future use, make sure the Save to my NAIT locations option is ticked.

Step 7. Confirm details

Review the details you've entered. If you need to edit anything, click on the links or use the Previous button otherwise click Finish.

The Event should now show in the Holding Pen where you can approve it.

Important: You need to approve the Event in the Holding Pen first in order for NAIT to update.
