Learn how to remove animals using the MINDA app

Using the MINDA app, you can remove animals from your herd by creating a Remove Event. When removing animals, you'll need to know:

  • Removal Type

  • Date the animal(s) were removed

  • Animal ID

  • Removal reasons

  • NAIT Location (if applicable)


How do I record a Remove Animals Event?

Select Remove animal from the home screen and then select Record removal. Next go through the steps on screen.

Step 1. Select the removal type

Select a removal type.

Step 2. Select date

Select the date the animal was either culled, sold or died.

Note: If recording an animal that has died, you'll first need to select if it was slaughtered or not.

Step 3. From NAIT Location (if applicable)

If you've opted in for LIC to be your NAIT information provider and are selling or culling animal (s), you'll need to choose the NAIT location the animal were removed from.

Step 4. Choose your animal(s)

Add the animals that were removed. If the animals are in a specific Group, you can tap Add from group otherwise, you can search for the animal if you know their ID.

Tip: If you have a wand connected to your MINDA app, you can scan the animals EID to add them.

Step 5. Reason for removal

Choose a reason the animal(s) were either culled, sold or the reason for their death.

Buyer details

If you've sold animals, you'll also need to enter the buyer details after selecting a reason. Adding in the buyers details means the buyer can accept the animals in MINDA.

If you don't know the buyers details, tap Skip but make sure there is nothing entered in the PTPT code and Herd code boxes.

Slaughtered

If removing animal(s) that have died, you'll need to confirm if the animal was slaughtered or not.

Step 6. From NAIT Location (if applicable)

If you've opted in for LIC to be your NAIT information provider and are selling or culling animal(s), you'll need to choose the NAIT location the animal were sent to.

Step 7. Review and finish

Review the details you've entered. If you need to edit anything, tap on any of the columns or go back by tapping on the top left otherwise tap Finish or Delete this removal to delete the Event.

Note: If you've opted in for LIC to be your NAIT information provider, you'll see a message letting you know that NAIT will be updated.

The Event should now show in the Holding Pen where you can approve it.
