How to record a Remove Animals Event

Learn how to remove animals in MINDA.

Using MINDA, you can remove animals from your herd by creating a Remove Event. When recording a Remove Animals Event in MINDA, you'll need to know:

  • Removal Type

  • Date the animal(s) were removed

  • Animal ID

  • Condition Score

  • Removal reasons

  • NAIT Location (if applicable)


How do I record a Remove Animals Event?

Select Event Recorder from the dashboard and then select Remove Animals from the list of available Events. Next go through the steps on screen.

Step 1. Select the removal type

Select a removal type from the list below.

Step 2. Select date

Select the date the animal was either culled, died or sold.

Step 3. Choose your animal(s)

Select the animals you're removing. If the animals are in a specific Group, you can change the Group to show only those animals otherwise, you can search for the animal if you know their ID.

Once you've selected the animals, they'll be moved to the right hand side as shown above. If you need to remove any animals, use the x.

Step 4. Reason for removal

Pick a reason the animal(s) were either culled, sold or the reason for their death.

Buyer details

If you've sold animals, you'll need to first enter the buyer details before selecting a reason. Adding in the buyers details means the buyer can accept the animals in MINDA.

If you don't know the buyers details, click Next to move to the next screen but make sure there is nothing entered in the PTPT code and Herd code boxes.

Step 5. NAIT Location (if applicable)

If you've opted in for LIC to be your NAIT information provider, you'll need to choose the NAIT locations.

Note: If the NAIT location the EID was assigned at isn't in this list, you can add it from this screen. Just add the NAIT number and Name then use the + button to save.

For animals that have been culled or sold, you will need select both the from and destination NAIT location. For animals that have died, you just need to select the location the animal died at.

Slaughtered and disposal method

If you're removing animal(s) that have died, you'll need to confirm if the animal was slaughtered and the disposal method.

Step 4. Review and finish

Review the details you've entered. If you need to edit anything, click Change or use the Back button otherwise click Finish.

Note: If you've opted in for LIC to be your NAIT information provider, you'll see a message letting you know that NAIT will be updated.

The Event should now show in the Holding Pen where you can approve it.
