Using MINDA, you can record when you've dried off animals. When recording a Dry Off Event in MINDA, you'll need to know:

  • Date the animal(s) were dried off

  • Animal ID

  • Reason for drying off

  • Treatments (if applicable)

How do I record a Dry Off Event?

Select Event Recorder from the dashboard and then select Dry Off from the list of available Events. Next go through the steps on screen.

Step 1. Select date

Select the date the animal was dried off. If the date was earlier, click Earlier then use the calendar to select the right date.

Step 2. Choose your animal(s)

Select the animals you're drying off. By default, the In Milk Group will be selected however, you can change this or search for the animal if you know their ID.

Once you've selected the animals, they'll be moved to the right hand side as shown above. If you need to remove any animals, use the x.

Step 3. Reason for drying off

Choose a reason for drying off your animals.

Step 4. Review and finish

Review the details you've entered. If you need to record a dry off treatment, click Save and Add treatment otherwise click Change or use the Back button to edit anything. Click Finish to save the Event.

The Event should now show in the Holding Pen where you can approve it.

Step 4. Select affected quarters

Choose which quarter you've treated.

Step 5. Choose separation date

Choose if and when the animal was separated from the herd.

Step 6. Add withholding periods

Add in the meat and milk withholding periods. Using the dose and withholding information, a return to vat date will be calculated and shown below.
