Using the Herd Audit tool in the MINDA app, you can complete an audit of animals on farm and check if your MINDA records are up to date. When completing the audit, animals can fall into the following categories:

  • Matched

  • Mismatched

  • ID not found

  • Not in audit

Once you've completed the audit, you can either email the Herd Audit or create a Group of the different categories.

How do I create a Herd Audit?

Select Herd Audit from the home screen and then select Start a new audit. Next go through the steps on screen.

Step 1. Name your Herd Audit

Add a name and description (optional) for your Herd Audit.

Note: If you're creating a Herd Audit for the first time, you'll see a message that explains how you can select a Group.

Step 2. Select a Group

When creating a Herd Audit, you can either select whole herd OR select another Group i.e. if you're completing an audit of your heifers, you can select your 2023 born animals.

Important: Once you've selected a Group and started your Herd Audit, you cannot change the Group. If you need to change the Group, you will need to create a new audit.

Step 3. Enter the animals ID

Once you're ready to begin the Herd Audit, you'll need to enter the Animals ID. This can either be a:

  • Tag number

  • Birth ID

  • EID

  • AHB ID

As you enter each animal, you can add a note and choose the following options:

  • Mismatch (animals tags do not match their MINDA records)

  • Match (animals tags match their MINDA records)

  • Add event (record an Event for an animal during the audit)

Tip: If you have a wand, you can connect to the MINDA app and scan your animals.

Step 4. Review and complete

Once you've completed the audit, tap Done on the top right. On the next screen you'll see a summary of the audit along with the animal count for each category.

From here you can:

  • Create a Group of the animals in the categories

  • Email the audit

  • Add more animals

  • Delete the audit

Important: If you have an iPhone, you'll need to make sure you have an email application installed and set up.
