Learn how to look up animals using the MINDA app

Using Lookup in the MINDA app, you can search for animals in your herd to see their:

  • Animal summary

  • Production

  • Reproduction

  • Health

  • Weight

  • Notes

As well viewing animal information, you can also record Events from Lookup.


How do I search for an animal?

Any time you see the search bar below, type in the animals ID and tap πŸ”. When searching for animal, you can switch between tag number, BID, EID and AHB ID. Once you're in Lookup, you can view the different sections listed above.


Summary

The animal summary gives you an overview of the animal including their:

  • ID

  • Breed information

  • Age

  • BW, PW & LW

  • Dam and sire summary

  • Milk production summary

  • Reproduction summary

  • Last calving information

  • Health summary

  • Group membership

Note: When you see the πŸ” icon in the app, it means you can instantly Lookup the animal. Just tap the magnifying glass to be taken to Lookup.


Production

Production shows you a summary of the animals:

  • Dry since date

  • SCC exceeded

  • Herd tests

  • Season totals/insights

The Herd tests section uses your 2 most recent herd tests while the Season totals shows accumulated lactation.

Note: If you see an orange letter D, this means some information has been derived.


Reproduction

Reproduction shows you the animals:

  • Current reproduction status

  • Expected calf details

  • Matings & heats

  • Previous calvings


Health

The health section shows treatments and diagnoses for the animal for the last 2 seasons.


Weight

The weight section shows the animals liveweight and BCS for the last 2 seasons.


Notes

Using the 3 dots on the bottom right select Notes. From here, you can view or add notes for an animal. When adding a note, there are 5 categories you can choose including:

  • General

  • Health

  • Reproduction

  • Behaviour

  • Environmental

Select the category that is most applicable then create your note.

Note: Any notes recorded for an animal will also show in the Animal Profile in MINDA.
