Events recorded on MINDA go through a number of checks to ensure what's been entered i.e. date, animal number etc doesn't conflict with anything else in MINDA. In some cases, if the checks do pick up something, you might see a warning or error in the Holding Pen. which you may need to action.
What is a warning?
When you see an Event in the Holding Pen highlighted in orange, it means there is a warning you may need to look into. You can still approve Events which have a warning but we do advise that you check the warning message and make sure what you've entered is correct.
What is an error?
When you see an Event in the Holding Pen highlighted in red, it means there is an error with the details recorded that needs to be fixed. Events which have errors can't be approved until they are updated.
How do I fix the warnings or errors?
When looking into a warning or error, the first thing you need to do is understand the issue. With each of the warnings or errors, there's a description of the issue.
Example 1.
We have 2 Remove Animal Events with the error The animal already has a removal event waiting to be sent. If we have a look at the Event details, 2 Events have been added in for the same movement meaning there is a duplicate. To fix this, 1 of the Events must be deleted.
Example 2.
We have a Calving Event recorded for the 22nd March but the error says This calving cannot be before the last dry off date. In this case, we'll need to check that the details entered in the Event are correct and also check what date she was recorded as dried off.
Important: If you find there was a mistake with an already approved Event, give the LIC Customer Experience Centre a call to get that sorted for you.
Example 3.
We have a Calving Event in the Holding Pen with the warning A calving already exists on this date - will be recorded as twins. If we take a closer look, we can see that there are 2 Calving Events recorded for this animal on the same day. In this scenario, we can approve the Event as it could be twins but best practice is to confirm the Event is correct before approving.
Note: If you need help with understanding or resolving any warnings or errors, give the LIC Customer Experience Centre a call.
