The Best and Worst tab lets you compare your animals SCC with their PW (Production Worth) and also see how your 2 year old animals are performing based on the recent milk payout. This allows you to see how your animals are preforming and make decisions on potentially treating or removing them.
Production vs Infection
The Production vs infection table uses the herd test you're viewing to show where an animal sits when comparing their SCC to their BW. Using the set thresholds, the table shows you what animals might need treatment or could be considered for removal.
Each blue dot represents an animal and when you click on a dot, you'll see the animals ID. Dark blue dots mean an animal has exceeded the maximum limits. If you have a specific animal you'd like to search for, type the animals number and click Find. If you click on any of the quadrants in the table, all the animals in that quadrant will be listed below where you can see their:
Number
Age
PW
LW
SCC
SCC Exceeded
Expected calving date
To change the thresholds in the table, click Customise and update the quadrants. Once you're done, click Finish Customising to save.
Performance profile for 2 year olds
Using the most recent Fonterra payout, the Performance profile looks at your 2 year old animals and calculates how your top, middle and bottom compare.
When looking at PW in the example below, the Performance profile shows that the top third of 2 year olds earned 22.49% more than the bottom third while top heifers earned $536.20 more than the bottom heifers. If you want to switch between PW & BW, click Compare with Breeding Worth.
