The Overview section provides a breakdown of production & lactation averages across different age groups and allows you to compare your results to region averages. Using the overview section you can see:

  • Overview

  • Test day production averages

  • Herd test averages

  • Regional herd test average comparison

  • Animal evaluation averages

  • Herd test information

Overview

The Overview table shows how your herd is tracking compared to last season as well as some key averages for your selected herd test, including:

  • SCC

  • Milksolids

  • Production worth

  • Breeding worth

  • Ancestry

The green bar represents your currently selected herd test while the grey line above makes it easier to compare to the same time last year. By clicking on the graphs below, you'll can view more detailed results allowing you to drill down into what is making up these numbers.

If at any time you want to change the herd test you're viewing, click the date on the top left and select another herd test.

Test day production averages

Test day production averages uses your most recent herd test to breakdown production averages across different age groups. Using these averages, you can compare your different age groups to your whole herd averages.

Note: Animals will be excluded if they have an abnormal code or have calved within 3 days of the herd test.

Herd lactation averages

Instead of using your latest herd test results, Herd lactation averages use accumulated lactation to provide you with averages for all your age groups. Similar to Test day averages, whole herd averages are also shown so you can draw comparisons.

Herd test averages

Using all your herd test results for the current season, the Herd test averages table lets you see a quick snapshot of how they all compare.

Regional herd test average comparison

Looking at herd test averages, see how your herd compares to regional averages. Regional averages include all herds tested by LIC in the same area in the last 14 days.

Animal evaluation averages

The Animal evaluation average compares animals in your herd in the top 5% for Production and Breeding worth with the top 5% in your region as well as national wide.

Herd test information

See details of your herd test such as the type of herd test, date etc. There are 3 types of herd tests including:

  1. Classic: Milk samples from an afternoon milking followed by a morning milking.

  3. OAD: 1 milk sample tested from animals that are milking once a day.
