Attributes are key pieces of information about your animal that you can add in Groups & Reports. Attributes are kept up to date using the information you record in MINDA i.e. Events such as Calving, Health, Pregnancy Diagnosis Events etc and also from other sources such as Herd Tests, Mating, Animal health tests etc.

Attributes can be used in both Groups and Reports. When building out Groups, you can use Attributes to narrow down animals based on what you would like to see about them i.e. if its close to calving and you'd like to see your animals expected due date, add the Expected Calving Date Attribute. Using Attributes, add filters to further narrow down animals i.e. update the Expected Calving Date filter to only include animals that are due to calve in the first week.

Reports are a little different as most reports are pre built so Attributes can't be added i.e. the Herd Summary report. For Reports where you can add Attributes i.e. Group Profile, Custom Report etc, you can search and add however many Attributes you need. Attributes in Reports are categorised so if you don't know which Attribute you need or can't find it, scroll through the list.

You can add Attributes when creating a Rules Group or when you're editing an existing Group. Attributes can be added to both PYO and Rules Groups and there's no limit to the number of Attributes you can add.

Within Groups, click on the Add an Attribute button and search for an Attribute. After selecting the Attribute, you might need to add a little more detail for it work i.e. season, dates, breed etc. Once you've added the Attribute, you can add it as a filter or remove it using the 3 lines near the Attribute name.

Head into Reports and select a report where you can add attributes. Once in the report, search or scroll through the available Attributes (on the left side of the page). Once you've found the Attributes you want to add, select it from the list. If you've added one by mistake, use the X to remove it.

The Is In Group and Is Not In Group Attributes are used to include or exclude animals that are in certain Groups. I.e. say you've created a Group and you'd like include animals that are in certain Groups, you can add the Is In Group Attribute then filter by those specific Groups.

When you add these Attributes to Groups, it's important to remember that if another Group already has this Attribute, this Group will be excluded from future filtering. For example, we created Group 1 and added the Is In Group Attribute. We then then created Group 2 and added the Is In Attribute. When we try to filter Group 2 to include Group 1, Group 1 doesn't show in the list as Group 1 also has the Is In Attribute and is excluded.
