The Supplementary Feed tab helps you keep track of feed you have on hand. Use it to record feed as it comes onto your farm, monitor changes throughout the season and track supplementary feed used when recording Feed out activities.

Feed Inventory

The Feed Inventory shows the supplementary feed you have on hand. Feed is grouped into the following categories:

  • Crops

  • Grains and Pulses

  • Greenfeed

  • Hays

  • Horticultural

  • Other

  • Process Crop Residues

  • Protein Concentrates

  • Silages

  • Straws

  • Tree Branches

For each feed type, you can view:

  • Feed name

  • Quantity on hand

  • Dry Matter (DM) percentage

Adding feed to inventory

To add a new supplementary feed type, select Add feed to inventory and enter the feed details. Once added, it will appear in your inventory and can be updated as feed is added or used throughout the season.

Note: When adding feed to your inventory, enter the wet weight. Each feed has its own dry matter (DM) %, which is used to work out how much dry matter is available.

Wet weight × DM % = kilograms of dry matter (kg DM)

Updating feed quantities

When feed is harvested, purchased or otherwise added to your feed inventory, use Increase. Use Decrease when feed is used. You’ll need to enter:

  • Date

  • Where the feed came from or where it is going

  • Quantity (tonnes)

To remove any supplementary feed from your feed inventory, select Remove.

Feed quantities can also be updated when recording a Feed out activity in the Farm tab. Select the supplementary feed type from your feed inventory when selecting the feed used.

Note: Supplementary feeds recorded in your inventory appear at the top of the feed out list when recording a Feed out activity.

Feed History

Feed History shows how your feed quantities have changed over time. Select View History to see updates for a specific supplementary feed over time, including:

  • Feed added

  • Quantity adjustments

  • Feed removed

  • Feed out activities recorded against mobs in the Farm Tab
