Once you've connected MINDA with your cow wearable system, you can receive wearable alerts in MINDA.
In Groups, alerts appear once the Wearable Alerts Attribute is added, allowing you to review animals and schedule drafts. In the app, alerts appear as notifications, which you can use to record Events.
Important: Currently, only heat alerts are available in MINDA.
How do I set up a Group showing wearable alerts?
The Wearable Alerts Attribute works like other Attributes in MINDA and can be added to any Group. Using heat alerts as an example, here's how to create a Group showing animals with alerts:
Go to Groups, then select Add a group
Enter a Group name
Choose which Group your new Group will be based on
Add the Wearable Alerts and Days Since Last Mating Attribute
Select Wearable Alerts and Days Since Last Mating when setting a filter
Once in the Group, update the filter to show animals with an alert and without a mating
Tip: Groups with the Wearable Alerts Attribute will update automatically. This means you don't need to re-save the Group to update which animals are shown.
What can I do with wearable alerts?
Wearable alerts in MINDA and the app help you take action on animals more quickly.
Using wearable alerts, you can:
Draft animals
If you have a compatible drafting system, you can draft animals from Groups that include the Wearable Alerts Attribute. This allows you to draft animals with an alert.
To schedule a draft, go to the Group and select Actions, then select Draft this group. Follow the on-screen instructions to schedule the draft.
Note: When creating a draft for a Group that uses the Wearable Alerts Attribute, animals will be drafted based on their alerts, regardless of whether an Event has been recorded in MINDA.
Record Events in MINDA
You can start recording Events based on the alerts received. When selecting animals for an Event, choose the Group you have set up for wearable alerts. This helps keep your records up to date.
Record Heat Events using the MINDA app
Use wearable notifications to record Heat Events in the app.
Go to Heat, then select Record Heat. Select Add from wearables to automatically add animals with heat alerts. Once complete, approve the Event in the Holding Pen.
